Booking a puja
How do I book a puja?
Choose a puja from All pujas, pick a verified pandit who serves your address (or performs it online), select a date and time, add your sankalp details and pay online. Your booking is confirmed as soon as the payment succeeds. Pujas must be booked at least 2 hours in advance.
Where can I book a pandit for a puja at home?
Anywhere in India that a verified pandit serves. Each pandit sets how far they travel; when you save your address, we show only the pandits who cover it. If no one serves your area yet, you can still book an online puja.
I live outside India. Can I take part in a puja?
Yes. Book an online puja: a verified pandit performs it live on video, with your family’s names and gotra in the sankalp. A private video link appears on your booking shortly before the puja begins. Booking times are in IST, and we show the matching time where you are. Prasad is not shipped for online pujas.
Who arranges the samagri?
Each puja page lists the samagri usually needed. Your pandit will confirm the final list — agree with them who arranges what, and use the notes in your booking to say what you already have at home.
Why do I need to verify my email and mobile number before booking?
So your pandit can reach you on the day — for directions or a last-minute samagri check — and so booking confirmations, refunds and reminders reach you. It also keeps fake bookings away from pandits. Verification takes a minute, from a code sent to each.
Payment, cancellation and refunds
How do I pay? Is it safe?
You pay online when you book, through Razorpay — by UPI, card, net banking or wallet. Your card and bank details go directly to Razorpay; we never see or store them. A platform fee may apply on top of the dakshina; it is always shown before you pay, and nothing else is added.
Can I cancel a booking? Will I get a refund?
Yes. You can cancel from My bookings at any time until the puja is marked complete. If you had paid, the full amount is refunded automatically — no cancellation fee. The same applies if the pandit or we cancel. See the Cancellation & Refund Policy.
How long does a refund take?
The refund is issued the moment the booking is cancelled and goes back to your original payment method, typically within 5–7 business days depending on your bank. You’ll get an email and an in-app notification when it is issued.
Reminders and panchang
What is Smaran?
Smaran is our reminder service. Choose the sacred days you keep — ekadashi, purnima, pradosh and more — and add loved ones whose punyatithi you remember; we work out the tithi each year and remind you by email or in the app. Set it up in Reminders.
For which place is the panchang calculated?
For the place you choose. Sunrise, tithi and nakshatra change with location, so you can pick your city or, if you allow it, use your device’s location. See today’s panchang.
About our pandits
How are pandits verified?
Every pandit verifies their email and mobile, completes identity verification (KYC) with their Aadhaar details and sets up a profile with their pujas, dakshina and service area. Our team reviews profiles and can withdraw verification at any time. Only verified pandits are shown, and only devotees with a completed puja can review them.
How much of my payment goes to the pandit?
Most of it. Pooja Sevak keeps a small platform commission from each booking to run the service, and the rest goes to the pandit ji.
I am a pandit. How do I join?
Create a pandit account, verify your email and mobile, complete KYC, then add the pujas you perform with your dakshina, working hours and how far you travel. You can also choose to offer online pujas. Once verified, devotees can find and book you.
