Satyanarayan Katha
Invite truth, gratitude and abundance into your home.
Offered to Lord Vishnu (Satyanarayan)
About this puja
The Satyanarayan Puja honours Lord Vishnu in his form as the embodiment of truth. The pandit performs Ganesh and Navgraha invocation, followed by the five chapters of the Satyanarayan Vrat Katha from the Skanda Purana, aarti and distribution of panjiri and panchamrit prasad.
Why it is performed
Traditionally performed on Purnima, on birthdays and anniversaries, or after a wish is fulfilled, the katha is an act of thanksgiving. It reminds the family that a life anchored in truth (satya) brings lasting peace and prosperity.
