About this puja
Rudrabhishek is the ritual bathing of the Shivling with Ganga jal, milk, curd, honey, ghee and sugar while the Shri Rudram from the Yajurveda is chanted. It concludes with bel patra offering, shringar and aarti.
Why it is performed
Lord Shiva as Rudra is invoked to dissolve negativity, heal illness and remove obstacles. It is especially auspicious during Shravan, on Mondays, on Maha Shivratri and when seeking relief from planetary afflictions.
