About this puja
Shraddh rites performed for departed ancestors on their tithi during Pitru Paksha or on the death anniversary. The pandit guides the family through sankalp, tarpan with til and kusha, pind daan and the offering of sattvik bhojan.
Why it is performed
Shraddh expresses gratitude to the ancestors (pitru) who gave us life and values. It is believed to bring peace to their souls and their blessings to the family, and to relieve Pitru Dosh.
